It's A Very Rustic Glam Christmas

I'm over here blasting Christmas music, or rather listening to it quietly since my husband and daughter are both sleeping, but while the White Winter Hymnal by Pentatonix plays and I'm sitting here admiring our Christmas decor, I thought it was high time I shared our winter wonderland for this year! Christmas has always been my favorite time of year, and lately re-decorating has become one of my favorite things as well. It's always the best when you can combine two things you love, right?! The past 2 years we've had a white tree with multicolored lights and pink and purple ornaments, we loved it (and Bella has a tiny one that looks similar in her room now) but this year we decided we were ready for a change. I mean, why not, especially since we've almost redecorated our entire home in the past few months (I'll be having some room reveals in the next month or two! Yay!) so we needed a new tree, ornaments, tree skirt and stockings too of course!

I'm all about the "rustic glam" look this Christmas, a beautiful outdoorsy flocked tree, pinecones and burlap mixed with  shiny sequins on the stockings and tree skirt and metallic mercury glass inspired gold and silver ornaments. We also threw in a few felt owl and polar bear ornaments because you know I can never resist felt ornaments. It's a perfect balance of both the rustic style and the glam style I feel, and it works together oh so perfectly to create one of the most beautiful Christmas trees I've ever seen.

The tree is from ATG Stores who so kindly sent it my way for a review and we couldn't love it more. It's just so "us" ya know? It looks almost too real to be artificial and has the most perfect amount of lights! Usually we always add more lights to even pre-lit trees, but the placement of the pre-lit lights on this 6.5 foot flocked beauty are simply perfection so no need to add any more. And the flocking stays on really well too! I was surprised that only a little fell off as we put it together. It was also really easy to put together! It comes in 3 pieces plus a metal stand and basically just snaps together, its very high quality and sturdy. And don't even get me started on how amazing the on/off button on the cord is, just step on it to turn the lights on or off (so convenient). ATG Stores sells more than just Christmas trees too! If there's furniture or decor you need, I guarantee they sell it! And with all the Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas sales approaching, have I got a good coupon for YOU! Use coupon code GIFT100 for $100 off any order of $249 or more! (Cannot be combined with on site sales) Valid Until January 31, 2017.

Photos seriously cannot do this tree justice, it's even more beautiful, more shiny, more glowing and more lifelike in person than any photo can show! This Flocked Alaskan Pine Vickerman brand Christmas tree from ATG Stores is 6.5 foot tall (we have 8 foot high ceilings and it's the best height), 62 inches around, sits on a sturdy metal stand, is pre-lit with 600 incandescent Dura-Lit® mini lights and boasts a very impressive 1045 tips! It looks quite real and just warms the room up with it's dreamy magical Christmas glow.

We wanted to decorate with something a little different this year and as I mentioned before, we were going for the rustic glam look this Christmas. I searched high and low until I found the most perfect ball ornaments. I knew I wanted ball ornaments that looked like mercury glass, but at the same time, were child friendly in case one accidentally fell off (I definitely don't want to have to worry about broken glass with a toddler running around). I finally came across these Mercury Glass inspired ones from over at Lights & Decor and immediately fell in love with them!

These ornaments come in both silver and gold styles and seriously look just like real mercury glass, but they're actually plastic, can you believe it?! You really can't even tell that they're plastic unless you touch them. They're a little larger, coming in at 4 inches in diameter and they're oh so perfect for our tree! They really fit quite nicely! They are sold in a 6 pack (we chose 2 packs of each to have a total of 24 ball ornaments on our Christmas tree) and they look great nestled in among the "snowy" branches. they're definitely a conversation starter and everyone wants to know where we got them from!

Now comes the stockings, one of my favorite Christmas morning traditions and I've had my eye on these Sequin and Burlap stockings from over at TwentyEight12 for about 3 years now. I'm so excited to finally own them this year and donate our previous (mismatched) ones. They're without a doubt the most beautiful Christmas stockings I have ever laid eyes on, and they're handmade by Leia and Kim right here in the USA (in San Diego California) with lots of Christmas spirit and love (I can almost guarantee that they listened to Christmas music while they were sewing away on them). These stockings are fully lined and the stocking cuff is carried around the entire stocking to make for a classy and finished look from all sides. Which brings me to my next point: they can be hung both right facing or left facing since the cuff goes all the way around the stocking, this offers so much more versatility when hanging them! Each stocking also comes with an embellishment of choice! Yay! Aren't extra's always so much fun?

We chose the snowflakes (embellishment options #8, #10 and #11) as our embellishments and I think they look perfect with our stockings! TwentyEight12 also offers the sweetest monogrammed name tags to add to your stockings for an additional $9 each! The perfect thing about these stockings is that they can be purchased both in sets and separately! So whether you need 2 or 10 (or even more) you can purchase however many you need to create your own collection. We chose the set of 3, but I love that they're sold separately as well so if we need to purchase more to add to out collection in the future as we grow our little family or if we ever get a pet, we can still have matching stockings!

For the most part, I love everything to match when it comes to holiday decor so when I spied this sequin table runner also from Lights & Decor, I knew we for sure needed it. Paired with a wood slice, a little rosemary herb Christmas tree and some cinnamon scented pinecones, it's the perfect way to tie in our dining room decor in with our living room festiveness. The table runner is 9 foot (or 108 inches) long and 12 inches wide. At first I thought that it would be too long, but I love the way that it hangs over a little extra long at the ends of our 65 inch farmhouse table and I think it looks beautiful!

Our tree skirt is from Fantasy Fabric Designs over on Etsy and it's the perfect addition to our ATG Stores Christmas tree. It completed the rustic glam look we were going for and really ties it all in together. The gold sequins trimming the edges and the burlap in the middle... It matches not only the shiny metallic Mercury glass inspired gold ornaments from Lights & Decor, but also the sequin table runner, and burlap and sequin stockings from TwentyEight12. It's absolute perfection.

The tree skirt measures about 60 inches in diameter so it's a best fit for a medium to large sized tree (like our Vickerman one from ATG Stores I talked about above). The edges are all finished so you don't have to worry about the burlap unraveling and the sequin border measures in at 4 inches wide (just the perfect touch of sparkle in my opinion). There is a slit in the back of the tree skirt to allow for wrapping it around the tree and the opening in the center for the Christmas tree measures 6 inches to accommodate for varying tree sizes. Depending on what colors you are going with for your Christmas decor theme, Fantasy Fabric Designs offers several colors to choose from, with gold (like we chose), silver, red or emerald green all as options!

Now if you need me, I'll be sneaking a freshly homemade cinnamon sugar cookie now and taking a few minutes to relax while staring at all this gorgeousness that is Christmas. The glistening tree that looks like a forest tree with freshly fallen snow on Christmas morning, the sweet glittering stockings waiting to be filled with lots of goodies and hung by the sofa with care , the sparkling table runner ready for Holiday dinners and family and friends gathered around it, the sequin trimmed tree skirt reflecting the light from the Christmas lights and the shiny mercury glass inspired ornaments shimmering and almost glowing on the tree. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
